As of 1/1, Global Neighborhood will take over the warehouse at the former Furniture Bank site for its mission-driven services in support of former refugees. Warehouse for storage and started putting together some volunteer teams to help with the collection and distribution. In a nutshell, we collect donated home goods, and work with social service agencies to get those goods in the hands of those who need it most.

More than 300 pieces of furniture are given away every day at the Furniture Bank Many families select up to 20 pieces of furniture on their visit. The Chicago Furniture Bank serves referred clients from our partnered nonprofit social service agencies. The NW Furniture Bank strives to give their clients a bed to sleep on, a sofa to sit on, and a table to eat from.

We want each family to walk into a space live-in ready! The average family receives up to $1,400 worth of goods from the Furniture Bank. Dressers or Chest of Drawers – Gently-Used.

Every year, participants are employed across Furniture Bank’s operations, including our furniture warehouse, on our pickup & delivery trucks, in our call centre, or as administrative support, or transition successfully to other jobs in various industries. Every year the Furniture Bank keeps large quantities of furniture out of land fills and into homes, while giving thousands of local children a bed to sleep in and families a table around which they can.
